چکیده

For both linear and nonlinear analysis, finite element method (FEM) software packages, whether commercial or in-house, have contributed significantly to ease the analysis of simple complex structures with various working conditions. However, literature offers other discretization techniques equally accurate, which show a higher meshing flexibility, such as meshless methods. Thus, in this work, radial point interpolation (RPIM) is used obtain required variable fields for elastostatic analysis. This work focuses its attention on two benchmark plate-bending problems. The plate analysed 3D solid and, order solution, modified versions Newton–Raphson are revisited applied. material elastoplastic behaviour predicted assuming von Mises yield surface isotropic hardening. algorithm discussed detail. examples allows us understand that RPIM version explored accurate achieve smooth fields, being alternative FEM.
